Regular, Full Time POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Works, the incumbent will perform the duties related to the operation and maintenance of the Tribe's water distribution and treatment systems.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
As a routine part of the pre-employment process, all candidates for employment must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES General knowledge of modes of the plant process & equipment, Operations Manual, water quality monitoring and sampling, and DDW regulatory compliance; Monitor the performance and operation of the plant through the SCADA Interface; Ensure the safety and well-being of him or herself and reports any accidents and injuries to management; Communicate effectively to management and contractors as needed regarding any work being carried out at the plant to maintain synergy; Ensure operational information is passed on during plant turn-over with shift partner; Complete operational reads and lab data on log sheets and computer entries on a daily basis; Record daily events in the Shift Log Book; Maintain a clean and organized control room and plant; Assist in troubleshooting plant process issues, equipment, and repair work; Follows company safety policies and ensures that he or she wears appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE); Ensure that work performed by staff meets compliance, safety codes, and follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures at all time; May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position; MINIMUM
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Equivalent of one (1) year of operational experience in water treatment facility Licensing:
CA State Water Resources Control Board - Water Treatment Operator (T1) Certification CA State Water Resources Control Board - Water Treatment Operator (D1) Certification Valid California Driver's License SUPERVISORIAL DUTIES:
None KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES Knowledge of parts inventory and warehouse operations; Ability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays when necessary; Performs tasks with minimal errors; Ability to be flexible with work schedule; Strong knowledge of water treatment processes; Sense of urgency toward project completion; Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.
